The Health & Human Performance Foundation

Changing lives, one study at a time.

We provide scientifically proven breathing solutions to elevate health and optimize human performance in today's stress crisis.

Our goal is to eliminate stress-related conditions, unleash human potential, and redefine the health and performance sectors.

Existing solutions for stress are insufficient and impractical.

They often involve inaccessible practices, drugs with harmful side effects, and temporary fixes that worsen long-term health. Ineffective stress management harms mental and physical performance, impacting every aspect of life and straining private and public resources.

Our approach involves researching and sharing breath-related solutions.

Our focus is on harnessing the body's natural ability to maintain balance amidst stress. Through our research, we discover scalable, science-backed methods that complement Western medicine, lessen dependence on pharmaceuticals, and empower individuals to take agency over their own health and well-being.

We do our own core research, we curate evidence-based insights, and we share published literature in our searchable online library.

  • Core Research

Engage with our in-depth original studies and investigations, where we delve deep into the exploration of breath-related topics, conduct experiments, and analyze data to uncover new insights and solutions.

  • Insight Digests

Explore our curated collection of condensed findings and insights, including synthesized information from our own studies as well as other researchers and experts in the field.

  • Science Library

Access our extensive hub of breath-related resources. Explore a wealth of scholarly articles, research papers, and studies to deepen your understanding of the science behind breathing and its impact on health and performance.

We focus our research on three target areas.

  • Improving health-related quality of life for individuals with health issues such as migraines, menopause symptoms, systemic sclerosis, and others.

  • Addressing the rising levels of stress and anxiety adults and youth through research and tailored, evidence-based interventions.

  • Focusing on well-being, burnout prevention, and performance optimization of athletes and first responders.

  • "HHPF’s groundbreaking research is empowering individuals worldwide to unlock their full potential through simple, accessible breath-based solutions."

    – Andy Galpin, PhD, Professor, Cal State University Fullerton

  • "With the explosion of information (and misinformation) about health, sober and unbiased analyses are of considerable value. For me, HHPF's evidence-based insights provide such a resource."

    – Jack L. Feldman, Ph.D., Distinguished Research Professor, David Geffen School of Medicine Chair in Neuroscience, UCLA

  • "HHPF is a research lifeline for clinicians, therapists and movement professionals. It also provides a vital virtual gathering place for the interprofessional breath community."

    – Jill Miller, Author of Body by Breath, Co-founder of Tune Up Fitness

  • "The research done and shared by the HHP Foundation has been a game changer for many breathwork facilitators like me all over the world."

    – Barbara C. Tanze, MA, Author of Take a Deep Breath Charlie, Breath and Voice Coach
